Research compound
Tesamorelin
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of human GHRH (hGHRH 1-44 amide) specified with a trans-3-hexenoic acid group conjugated to the N-terminal tyrosine. This hexenoyl modification is documented to confer dipeptidyl peptidase IV resistance and extend pharmacokinetic half-life relative to native GHRH in biochemical models. Full agonist activity at the GHRH receptor is retained, with characterized Gs-protein/cAMP signal transduction in pituitary somatotroph cultures. The modification provides a defined parameter for studying GHRH receptor kinetics independently of proteolytic stability. For laboratory research use only.
