Research compound
KPV
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val, CAS 67727-97-3) is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), specified as the minimal pharmacophore for melanocortin receptor-independent anti-inflammatory activity. In intestinal epithelial and macrophage cultures, characterized activity includes NF-kB nuclear translocation suppression and reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokine expression, without the MC1R pigmentation activity of the full-length parent sequence. It is catalogued as the tool compound for anti-inflammatory peptide signaling studies in gut epithelial model systems. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
