GLP-1
GLP-1 (7-37) is the proteolytically processed, biologically active form of glucagon-like peptide-1, generated from proglucagon cleavage in intestinal L-cells and a subset of brainstem neurons. As the native orthosteric ligand at the GLP-1 receptor — a class B GPCR with Gs-protein coupling — it sets the baseline cAMP response against which all synthetic GLP-1R agonists are benchmarked in pancreatic beta-cell and neuronal assay formats. Its endogenous-ligand status makes it the required calibration standard for competitive binding kinetics, receptor internalization measurements, and functional GLP-1R signaling studies. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
